Versatile Midfielder Will Play in DI North East Conference

Congratulations to Ultimate NJ 2020 player Julia Davies, who has committed to play college lacrosse at Robert Morris University! The midfielder from North Brunswick, NJ is set to join a talented Colonials team.

“Julia’s natural athleticism is evident the minute she steps on the lacrosse field,” explained Ultimate Lacrosse coach Brittany Ballack. “Julia is a competitive and scrappy player. She plays with poise and knows how to be a threat on the offensive and defensive ends of the field. You can always count on her to play with heart and determination. The entire Ultimate family is excited to see what Julia can accomplish at Robert Morris!”

Heading in to her junior season Davies is a two-year varsity starter at North Brunswick High School. As a sophomore Davies was named First Team All-Conference, tallying 39 goals and 19 assists while also being a disruptive force on the defensive end of the field. Davies’ success as a sophomore led her to represent NJ at the 2018 National Lacrosse Classic. In addition to lacrosse Davies also runs cross country for North Brunswick. She is the top runner on the team and served as a captain during her junior season. Equally talented on the lacrosse field and in the classroom, Davies has a 3.4 GPA while taking several honors and advanced placement courses. At Robert Morris Davies hopes to study criminal justice and pre-law in preparation to one day attend law school.

“I chose Robert Morris because the campus is beautiful, the team and coaches are so welcoming and made me feel at home, and they offer both of my majors!” explained Davies. “I’m excited to play in college because I have such a strong love for the game and I know that if I didn’t continue to pay I would definitely miss lacrosse way too much. Being on Ultimate has given me friendships that I know will last forever and playing with such a talented group of girls has helped me better my own game in so many ways.”

The Colonials play in the competitive North East Conference (NEC), finishing with a 5-2 conference record and 9-9 overall record in 2018. Over the past three seasons Robert Morris has gone a collective 15-6 against NEC opponents. Predicted to finish 4th in the NEC in 2019, Robert Morris boasted the 10th-best goals-against average in all of the NCAA in 2018. We look forward to seeing how Davies can impact the Colonial midfield, congratulations, Julia!
