Jones to join 3 other Ultimate grads on Davidson roster

Ultimate Lacrosse PA 2020 defender Brynn Jones has officially committed to Davidson College. Located in Davidson, North Carolina, Davidson plays in the Atlantic-10 Conference. Brynn is looking forward to continuing her lacrosse career in college just like her sisters -- Madison (Ultimate 2014) who played at and recently graduated from Division III Haverford College and Chloe (Ultimate 2017) who currently attends and plays for Division I UVA. Brynn's younger sister, Avery, is an Ultimate 2021 player and plans to pursue a college lacrosse career as well.

“Brynn is a feisty, tough, fast and smart player,” explained Ultimate founder and coach Michele DeJuliis. “She has great vision and is able to cause a lot of chaos in the defensive end. She’s a competitor that won’t stop but also a kind and gentle soul.  We are excited about her commitment to Davidson and know she will do great things at the next level!”

Jones, who also plays field hockey and basketball, is an all-around defensive terror. Skilled at both 1v1 and team defense, she brings great energy and a never-give-up mentality to every game and practice. Jones currently plays for Bethlehem Central High School in Del Mar, NY after playing at The Lawrenceville School as a freshman. This past spring, she was the highest scoring defender (17 goals, 12 assists) and had the highest GPA on the BCHS varsity lacrosse team. She also played on the US Lacrosse NJ South School Girls team in 2016 and the Adirondack School Girls team in 2017 as well as participating on the 2016 Ultimate Elite team that competed in the US Lacrosse U-15 National Championship in Indianapolis, IN.  Brynn was recently nominated to represent her high school at the Youth Summit:  Empower, Engage and Connect which brings together scholar-athlete-leaders from nine counties in upstate New York to bring awareness to substance abuse, addiction and recovery and the dangers of distracted driving.

“I chose Davidson, first, for its outstanding academic reputation,” explained Jones. "After visiting with the coaches and the team, I confirmed Davidson offers a great athletic opportunity for me as well. Davidson is also in the south. After moving to upstate NY a little over a year ago, I definitely wanted a warm climate. I plan on studying Psychology at this point, but that could change. Davidson is the perfect fit for me academically, athletically and socially. I am very excited about attending Davidson and taking advantage of all of the opportunities that it affords! I would like to thank Coach Kim Wayne and Coach Lily Carpenter for offering me this amazing opportunity, and I would also like to thank DJ for always having faith in me and for being an incredible role model for me for as long as I can remember."

Davidson is coming off of an impressive 2018 season (11-8 overall, 5-4 in conference) where 5 Davidson Wildcats took home A-10 Honors, 3 of whom will return for the 2019 season. One of the players honored is 2017 Ultimate grad Olivia Carey, who was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team. Head Coach Kim Wayne is 85-92 while at Davidson, and will look to build off of their successful 2018 season. Jones will join several Ultimate Alumnae at Davidson: Riley Redpath, Kendall Seifert, and Carey.
