Ultimate Lacrosse NJ 2019 attacker Michaela Donnelly has officially committed to Rowan University, a Glassboro, NJ based Division III school that plays in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
"Michaela is a well-rounded, composed attacker,” explained Ultimate Lacrosse coach Marisa DeAngelis. “In difficult times you want the ball in her stick. She always comes through in clutch situations, either setting up opportunities for her teammates or scoring herself. The Ultimate family is very excited to see what she can do at Rowan.”
Outside of Ultimate Donnelly plays for the recently formed Nottingham Highschool team. In 2016 Donnelly was instrumental in the program’s first ever win, where she scored six goals. Donnelly was named Nottingham MVP as a freshman, and won the team sportsmanship award as a sophomore. She also plays for the Nottingham varsity soccer and indoor track teams.
“I believe that what Rowan has to offer me academically and athletically will be a great fit,” explained Donnelly. “I am excited to take my game to the next level with this program, and I look forward to learning and improving as a player under Coach Delaney."
Rowan went 14-4 in 2018 under 11th year coach Lindsay Delaney. In 2018 the Profs lost to Catholic University in a tight 14-11 game in the NCAA Tournament. While at Rowan Donnelly plans to study biology, with dreams of going on to medical school and becoming a trauma surgeon.
